LG OLED TV
When you set up a home cinema that surpasses the cinema experience, you inevitably arrive at LG OLED TV. For more than twelve consecutive years, LG has been the world’s best-selling OLED TV brand, and that is no coincidence. The combination of self-emissive pixels, perfect black and infinite contrast makes every LG OLED TV a display that leaves LED and LCD technology far behind.
At Integration At Home, we seamlessly integrate LG OLED TVs into your complete smart home — from Control4 control and Dolby Atmos surround to automated lighting scenes that create the perfect cinema atmosphere.
From GoldStar to World Leader in Display Technology
The history of LG Electronics begins in 1958, when founder Koo In-hwoi established the company GoldStar in Seoul as the first Korean electronics manufacturer. GoldStar produced the first Korean radios, televisions, refrigerators and washing machines. In 1995, GoldStar merged with Lucky Chemical to form LG Electronics.
With an annual turnover of over 63 billion dollars in 2024, operations in more than one hundred countries and approximately 74,000 employees, LG Electronics is one of the largest consumer electronics companies in the world.
In the field of television technology, LG took the lead in 2010 with the first OLED television. In 2013, LG launched the first commercial 55-inch OLED TV. Today, LG dominates with a market share of over 60 per cent of all OLED TV sales worldwide and the brand has shipped more than 15 million OLED TVs.
Self-Emissive Pixels: Why OLED Is Superior
The secret behind the image quality of every LG OLED TV lies in the fundamental technology. In a conventional LED or LCD television, a backlight illuminates the entire screen via filters. This inevitably causes light loss, reduced contrast and limited viewing angles. An LG OLED TV works radically differently: each pixel contains organic compounds that individually emit light when current flows through them. This means that each pixel can independently be turned on, off or dimmed.
The result is impressive. When a pixel switches off, it produces absolutely no light — this yields a perfect black that is unachievable with any other technology. That perfect black creates an infinite contrast ratio. Colours become richer and more vivid because they are not obscured by backlighting, and the viewing angle is virtually unlimited — you see the same colour accuracy whether you sit directly in front of the screen or at an angle beside it.
Primary RGB Tandem OLED: The Breakthrough of 2025
With the 2025 generation, LG has made a technological leap that redefines the OLED market. The LG G5 and M5 introduce the Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, also known as the “four-stack” architecture. Where previous generations combined three emission layers, the new panel stacks four separate layers: two blue, one red and one green. This structure replaces the MLA technology that LG used in 2023 and 2024.
LG Display claims a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits — 33 per cent more than the previous MLA panel. In practice, the LG G5 measures around 2,200 to 2,300 nits in calibrated mode, a jump of approximately 40 per cent compared to the G4. Colour accuracy now covers 99.5 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. At the same time, energy consumption has decreased by approximately 20 per cent.

Image Processing, AI and Cinema Technology
AI Image Processing
The Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen2 in the G5 and M5 analyses each frame at pixel level, recognises objects and faces, and dynamically adjusts sharpness, brightness and colour. AI Super Upscaling intelligently upscales lower resolutions to 4K. The AI Picture & Sound Wizard learns your preferences from more than 1.6 billion image combinations. AI Voice ID recognises each family member and automatically loads the corresponding profile.
Filmmaker Mode
The updated Filmmaker Mode with Ambient Light Compensation preserves the filmmaker’s creative intent by disabling motion smoothing and unnecessary image processing. The light sensor dynamically adjusts the gamma to the ambient light. In combination with Dolby Vision, HDR images are automatically optimised. Dolby Atmos adds immersive surround sound. Together, they form the core of an authentic cinema experience.
Top-Level Gaming
Response time of 0.1 ms. Refresh rates up to 165 Hz (G5) or 144 Hz (C5/M5). Four HDMI 2.1 connections. NVIDIA G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium and VRR. ALLM automatically switches to the lowest latency upon game detection. The Game Dashboard and Game Optimizer provide direct control over all gaming settings.
webOS 25: The Smart Platform
All 2025 LG OLED TVs run on webOS 25. Direct access to Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+. The AI Magic Remote combines motion sensor, scroll wheel and voice control. The webOS Re:New programme guarantees up to four upgrades over five years. For smart home integration: Apple AirPlay 2, Apple HomeKit, Google Cast and the Matter protocol. The Home Hub function makes it possible to control IoT devices directly from your TV.
Control4 Integration by Integration At Home
The true power of an LG OLED TV only fully unfolds when the screen is incorporated into a professional Control4 system. LG TVs are fully integratable with Control4 via IP control, with bidirectional communication that provides real-time status feedback.
With the Control4 driver for LG webOS TVs, we control the full range of functions from a single interface. The TV turns on and off with status verification. Input selection is automatic. Volume and picture mode are adjustable, and you can activate preset picture profiles for film, sport or gaming.
Cinema Scenes for Your Daily Life
Movie Night: The LG OLED TV switches on and selects the correct input. The Integratech LED strips dim to a warm 2700K accent. The Delta Light downlights switch off. The Focal speakers start in Dolby Atmos. The Gira curtains close. All within five seconds.
Sport: The TV switches to your decoder. Sports Mode activates for a sharper image. The Bluesound speakers relay commentary in the kitchen.
Gaming: Control4 detects your PlayStation 5 or Xbox. The TV switches to the correct HDMI input and activates ALLM. RGB LED strips create the atmosphere.
Good Morning: Your personal dashboard appears. The bicolor LED strips illuminate at 5000K. Bluesound plays your morning playlist.
