Heimdall and Heimdall+ – The New Standard in 4K Laser Projection
The Heimdall series is the latest projection platform from Barco Residential. The Heimdall features a native 4K DLP chipset, an RGB laser light source with a lifespan of 25,000 hours and a brightness of 4,000 lumens. The Heimdall+ goes a step further with 6,000 lumens, sufficient to brightly and sharply illuminate even the largest screens.
Both models support the full REC2020 colour gamut, which means every colour in every film is reproduced as the director intended. HDMI 2.1 provides the latest connectivity with support for frame rates up to 120 Hz, ideal for gaming and sport. The Heimdall+ CinemaScope operates at just 29 dB, quiet enough for installation in the room itself.
Nerthus and Freya – Flagship Projectors with DCI Certification
For those seeking the absolute top tier, there are the Nerthus and Freya projectors. Built on Barco’s renowned Series 4 platform and equipped with the Alchemy Integrated Cinema Media Processor, these three-chip DLP projectors deliver images at the level of professional cinema halls. They are fully DCI compliant, meaning they meet the stringent standards of the film industry for colour reproduction, resolution and brightness.
The Nerthus offers a wide range of lenses for maximum installation flexibility and plays both DCI-encrypted content and 4K HDR consumer content via HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2. The Freya+ adds extra contrast and an even wider colour gamut, at the level of the reference projectors Barco supplies to Hollywood.
Bragi and Medea – Compact and Versatile
Not every home cinema has the same space or the same budget. The Bragi is equipped with a revolutionary high-lumen-density RGB LED light source and Barco’s Pulse electronics platform. The Medea offers 4K UHD resolution with 6,500 lumens of laser illumination, optimised for small to medium-sized media rooms where performance and form factor need to be in balance.
CinemaScope – Unique in the Residential Market
Barco Residential is the only manufacturer worldwide that offers genuine CinemaScope projectors for home use. Most cinema films today are released in 2.39:1 aspect ratio. With the CinemaScope models, this format is automatically detected and scaled to a native 5K CinemaScope resolution of 5,120 x 2,160 pixels. No black bars, no manual adjustments. The image fills the entire screen, exactly as in the cinema.
LED Walls – Direct View for Maximum Impact
